This escobeta (scrub brush) is handmade in Mexico and is made from the root of a grass called “zacaton”. This brush is perfect for scrubbing pots , molcajetes and cleaning root vegetables. The roots are very stiff and are effective scouring brushes.

Brushes are exactly what I wanted, and packed with love, but also packed in a plastic bubble mailer with an insane amount of cards and dried beans (?) and chicklets and cards and cutesy paper things and more cards. I just wanted a few scrub brushes and what I got was a bunch of stuff to fill my garbage can with.
